Built on Integrity

Powered by Excellence. A Guam-based crew delivering mission-critical marine services with a commitment to precision, readiness, and the Pacific communities we serve.

Our Story

Blue Steel Marine was founded in 2018 by Maria Santos Reyes, a third-generation Chamorro with two decades of defense contracting experience. After years of watching Pacific fleet maintenance get outsourced to companies thousands of miles from the waterline, she saw an opportunity: build a team that actually lives where the ships are.

Starting with a four-person crew and a single welding rig in Apra Harbor, Blue Steel quickly earned a reputation for showing up early, staying late, and doing the job right the first time. Within two years, we'd expanded into full-spectrum marine repair — hull fabrication, mechanical overhaul, electrical systems, and coatings — serving both U.S. Navy vessels and commercial operators across Micronesia.

Today we're a certified Women-Owned Small Business and HUBZone company with a growing team of skilled tradespeople. But the mission hasn't changed: deliver precision work with island-rooted values, right where it's needed most.

Mission & Values

Our mission is simple: provide the Pacific fleet with marine repair and industrial services that match the urgency and precision of the missions they support. Everything we do flows from three core values.

Precision

Every weld, every splice, every bolt torqued to spec. We don't cut corners because the people aboard these vessels are counting on us. Our work has to be right — not close enough, not good enough — right.

Readiness

Ships don't break down on a schedule, and neither do we. When a vessel needs emergency repair at 0300 or a drydock window gets moved up by two weeks, our team is packed and moving. Readiness isn't a slogan — it's how we operate.

Inafa'maolek

The Chamorro concept of mutual care, harmony, and shared responsibility. It means we look after our crew, respect the communities we work in, and treat every partner — from a deckhand to a contracting officer — with the same straightforward honesty.

Leadership

The people who set the standard. Our leadership team brings decades of hands-on experience in marine trades, military operations, and Pacific commerce.
